Column Heat Leaks
This window is used to supply heat leak data for non-adiabatic distillation column operation. A heat leak may be defined for the condenser, reboiler, and/or any tray in the column. This feature is especially useful when simulating multiple column arrangements with a single column model. Heat leaks with negative signs are heat losses; heat leaks with positive signs are heat gains.
Usage
From the Column Main Window, push the Heaters and Coolers button.
From the Column Side Heaters/Coolers Window, push the Heat Leak button.
Activate the column heat leak feature by checking the "Calculation with Heat Leak" selection.
Select the desired Heat Leak Specification Mode option, either "Overall" or "By Individual Tray".
Provide the data in the Overall Heat Leak entry fields or in the tabular form provided for Tray by Tray Heat Leak mode.
Heat leak duties may be supplied in units other than those shown by using the Unit-of-Measure Selection Window, which is displayed when the UOM button on the Toolbar is pushed.
