Tray by Tray Heat Leak

Individual tray heat leaks are provided. A negative sign indicates a heat loss; a positive sign indicates a heat gain.

Usage

From the Column Main Window, push the Heaters and Coolers button.

From the Column Side Heaters/Coolers Window, push the Heat Leak button.

Activate the entry of heat leak data by checking the "Calculation with Heat Leak" selection.

Select the "By Individual Trays" heat leak specification option.

The Individual Tray Specification Table is activated for data entry. The tray numbers and corresponding heat leaks are entered for ranges of trays as desired. Values for the top and bottom trays are required. Heat leaks for trays between those with supplied values are obtained by linear interpolation of the two most adjacent supplied values. Tray number one is the condenser; the highest tray number in the model is the reboiler. See Editing Tabular Data for further explanation of tabular input.
