Splitter Main Window
This window is used to enter the product stream specifications required by the splitter unit. Each product specification is a rate dependent entry, and two options exist for corrective action if the feed rate is insufficient to meet these split specifications.
Product Rate Specification Table
This table contains a list of all the splitter unit's product streams as drawn in the flowsheet diagram. For all but one of these product streams, you must choose a rate specification parameter and enter a value for it.
Click on the word Parameter... in the table's second column for each stream, to choose an extensive rate parameter that will describe this stream. See Specification - Parameter Selection Window for more details.
Click on the word a Value to enter a numeric value for the selected stream parameter.
Options Available When Feed Is Inadequate to Satisfy Product Rate Specification
When the feed rate does not meet the specified product rates, you can select one of the following options for corrective action:
1. Make PRO/II satisfy each product specification in the stream order listed in the Product Rate Specification Table, until the feed is exhausted. The stream that encounters insufficient feed is then limited to the amount of remaining feed, and all subsequent streams have a zero product flowrate.
2. Make PRO/II satisfy each product specification and then normalize the stream flowrates to meet the material balance. Any unspecified product will have a zero product flowrate.
Pressure Specification Button
Push this button to display the Pressure Specification Window, where you can specify the outlet pressure condition for the product streams.
Changing Stream Specification Order Button
Push this button to display the Splitter Streams - Reorder List Window, where you can rearrange the order of the stream specifications in the Product Rate Specification Table. This is useful when you request PRO/II to satisfy each product stream specification in the order listed, for the cases where the feed rate is inadequate.
