Specification - Parameter
This window is used to select a parameter for a Generalized Performance Specification.

Usage
The column, controller, splitter and generalized specification flash unit operations contain the specification(s) in their respective data entry windows. This window is displayed when the corresponding "Parameter" text in the specification is clicked.
The following steps describe the process of selecting the first, or only, specification parameter:
1. Select the Stream/Unit to which the parameter is associated from the drop-down list boxes. Note that only the controller specification has access to all the unit operations present in the flowsheet. For all other units only the feed and product streams and sometimes the unit itself are available.
2. Click on the "Parameter..." text. Depending upon the unit operation/stream selected, the appropriate window is displayed where you can select the actual parameter. When you return to the Specification - Parameter Window, the "Parameter..." text is replaced with the parameter you just selected.
3. When you push OK and return to the unit operation window, the original "Parameter" text is replaced with the specification parameter you just selected.
The procedure for selecting the second specification parameter is similar to above except that you may select from all unit operations and streams in the flowsheet. Alternatively, the second parameter may be a constant value.
