Unit and Description

Unit

This field is an alphanumeric string containing a maximum of 12 characters. It uniquely identifies each unit operation and it is used for referencing the unit operation within specifications and for calculation sequencing.

The Unit is the same as the label for the unit operation's icon in the flowsheet which is set according to the icon label format specified in the Unit Style Window. This name can be changed within a unit operation's data entry window, which will be propagated back to the label in the flowsheet. Embedded blanks are not allowed in the unit name.

Description

This is an optional description field used for labeling output results. Up to 40 alphanumeric characters may be given, including embedded blanks.
