PRO/II allows using multiple databanks of pure component data for any simulation. It also pre-defines a list of component databanks and a default order for searching them. Data for each component are selected from the first databank in the search order in which the component appears.
This window allows users to re-define the databanks included in the default list, and to change the order in which PRO/II searches those databanks for component data. Databanks may be SimSci supplied or user prepared, using the SimSci LIBMGR program available in the Thermodynamic Data Manager (TDM) installed with PRO/II .
Usage
From the Component Selection Main Window, push the Databank Search Order button.
Click Thermo Data Manager.. to view Thermo Data Manager dialog box.
Select (highlight) available databanks from the Available Databanks box and insert them in the search order by using the appropriate action buttons:
Insert Before
Insert the selected available databank just prior to the selected (highlighted) databank in the
Current Search Order box.
Insert After
Insert the selected available databank just after the highlighted databank in the Current
Search Order box.
Remove
Remove the highlighted databank in the Current Search Order box from the search order.
Restore Current Search Order to Installation Default
To restore the Current databank search order to the Installation Default search order, push the Restore Current Search Order to Installation Default button.
Use Individually Defined Cascade Search Order: This option allows overriding all of the individually declared search orders for already added components to that which is selected in Current Search Order section. Once the user clicks OK after selecting this checkbox, the existing individual search orders will be lost and replaced with Current Search Order for all components.
Use Cascading Search Order for All Component Properties: When this option is selected from the dropdown list, "Cascading Search for Component Properties" option will be switched ON for the all the components.
No Cascade: When this option is selected from the dropdown list, "Cascading Search for Component Properties" option will be switched OFF for all the components.
Additional Information
This window provides complete flexibility in selecting sources for pure component data. For example, it may be necessary to select a different pure component databank to match results from a model developed on the SimSci PROCESS Program or an earlier version of PRO/II. Or the results calculated with a private databank may be easily compared with the results when using a SimSci databank and so forth.
When using Electrolyte Models, the OLILIB databank should be first in the search order.
The Component Databank Search Order displays the user-created databank(s) and the databank(s) pertaining to selected system libraries.
Component Specific Search Order
The search order defined using this window is the default search order used for all components. However, when specific components have different versions of data on more than one library, it may not be possible to access all the desired data for all components with this single (default) search order. Starting with version 8.3, the PRO/II Graphical User Interface supports a separate search orders for each component. Components that do not have a specific assigned search order use the default search order defined in this window.
For information about defining additional search orders for specific components, see Component Specific Databank Search Order.
