Units Of Measure Lists
The Units of Measure (UOM) Lists feature may be used to create a library of dimensional unit sets which can be used in different simulation problems. This list is built by creating a number of predefined sets, each containing the desired dimensional units for all the input and/or output parameters.
After the UOM sets have been created in the list, you can select the desired input and output sets to be used as the default for all the simulation problems using the Default Sets of Units of Measure Window. These global defaults can be overridden for a individual problem through the Default Units of Measure for Problem Input Data Window and the Default Units of Measure for Problem Output Report Window.
PRO/II contains English, Metric and SI systems as built in sets. You can create new sets which contain different units according to your requirements.
Usage
Select the Options / Unit of Measure Lists command to display the "Units of Measure Library" window. This window is used to create new UOM sets, and to modify or delete an existing set.
Units of Measure Set Name and Description
Lists all the available units of measure set names and a brief description, if any, about the sets. The descriptions can be created using the Edit operation on the sets. The English, Metric and SI systems are listed as three default sets.
Create button
Displays the "Create Units of Measure Set window", where you can name the new set to be created, and select the basis (English, Metric or SI) on which the set will be based. To customize the set according to your needs, select the Edit button after the set creation.
Copy button
You can copy the contents of one UOM set to another set. If the latter already exists, all the current units will be replaced by the new units. If it does not exist, a new set will be created and the units will be copied from the initial set. The Edit feature may now be used to customize the set.
Edit button
Displays the Library Units of Measure Window, where you can customize the units for a new set or modify the units for an existing set.
Rename button
Renames the selected UOM set to the desired new name. If a set with the new name already exists, a warning message will be displayed asking you whether to replace the contents of the existing set with the new set.
Delete button
Deletes the selected UOM set.
