Library Units of Measure
Access
Select the Options \ Units of Measure Lists command to display the Units of Measure Library window.
Select the desired set to modify in the Units of Measure Set Name and Description field.
Push the Edit button to display this window.
This window is used to customize the dimensional units contained in the selected Units of Measure (UOM) set from the Units of Measure Library window. In addition to the units, you can also modify the standard molar vapor volume, select a temperature basis for True vapor pressure (TVP), and a calculation method for Reid vapor pressure (RVP) for this set.
Usage
Select the Options \ Units of Measure Lists command to display the Units of Measure Library window.
Select the desired set to modify in the Units of Measure Set Name and Description field.
Push the Edit button to display this window.
Description
Enter a description for the selected UOM set. This entry is optional, but can be useful for identification purposes.
Library Units of Measure
Displays all the input and output parameters, and the dimensional unit selected for them in the current set. To modify these units, select the desired units for the parameters which need to be modified from the corresponding drop-down lists. Note that the units for some of the parameters (like velocity) are formed by a combination of the units listed here.
The current atmospheric pressure is shown in the Pressure Gauge Basis field. The default value is 14.6959 psia (or its equivalent) and can be replaced with another value if desired.
Standard Conditions button
PRO/II defaults the standard vapor conditions to be 22.414 cubic meters per kilogram-mole at 0.0 C, 1.0 atmosphere in Metric and SI units, or its equivalent. If you want to override this default, push this button to display the Global Default for Standard Conditions window where the desired condition can be specified.
Note: Standard conditions for liquid properties are different from standard vapor conditions. Users should be aware that standard conditions for liquid molar volume are different from standard conditions for a vapor or gas. Refer to Standard Conditions for a summary of the different standard conditions.
TVP and RVP Conditions button
TVP PRO/II defaults the True Vapor Pressure temperature basis to 100 degrees.
RVP The default Reid Vapor Pressure calculation method is the API Naphtha method.
To override these defaults, push this button to display the Global Default for TVP and RVP Conditions window. Entries on that window allow specifying the desired standard conditions and method can be specified.
