Default Units of Measure for Problem Output Report

(Output \ Report Format menu)

This window is used to specify the Units of Measure (UOM) to be used for generating the output report for the current problem.

PRO/II allows you to generate an output report with the same units as the input data and/or with explicitly specified output units. Initially, the choice will be the same as that specified in the Default Sets of Units of Measure Window.

Usage

From the Output \ Report Format menu, choose the Units of Measure item to display this window.

Output Report(s) to be Printed

PRO/II allows you to generate reports based on the following Units of Measure (UOMs):

One Output Report in Input Units: The output report based on the units used for the problem data input will be generated. The currently specified input units will be displayed for informational purposes only and cannot be changed. With this option, the output UOMs can only be changed by selecting Input \ Units of Measure command.

One Output Report in Output Units: An output report based on the specified output UOMs will be generated. All the displayed output units for various parameters can be changed if desired.

Two Output Reports, one in Input Units, one in Output Units: Two output reports will be generated, one each based on the input and specified output units. In this case, the UOMs displayed for various parameters are the specified output units which can be changed if desired. To view the input UOMs, you have to display the Default Units of Measure for Problem Data Input Window.

If the second or third choice is selected, you can modify the output UOMs as follows:

Initialize from UOM Library button

To select a different pre-defined set from the UOM library as the default set, push this button to display the "Change Default Units of Measure window", where you can choose the desired set.

Copy from Input UOM button

Push this button to set the output units to be the same as the units selected for data input in the Default Units of Measure for Problem Data Input Window.

Default Dimensional Units for Data Output

Displays most of the parameters whose data can be printed in the output report and their selected units. You can change these units as necessary by selecting the desired unit from the drop-down list boxes. Note that these changes are applied only for the current problem and do not change the contents of the selected UOM set in the library. Also, PRO/II combines some of the selected dimensional units for parameters that are not listed here. For example, the unit for velocity is obtained by combining the individual units selected for length and /time.

Standard Conditions button

The standard conditions default to the values specified for the selected output UOM set. If you want to override this default, push this button to display the Standard Conditions Window where the desired condition can be specified. PRO/II defaults the standard vapor condition to be 22.414 M3/Kg-Mole at 0.0 C, 1.0 atmosphere in Metric and SI units, or its equivalent.

Note: Standard conditions for liquid properties are different from standard vapor conditions. Users should be aware that standard conditions for liquid molar volume are different from standard conditions for a vapor or gas. Refer to Standard Conditions for a summary of the different standard conditions.
