Stream Petroleum Assay Data

This window is used to enter the assay data for a petroleum assay stream. The TBP Cutpoint set and blending options may also be chosen.

Usage

From the Stream Data Window, select the Petroleum Assay option. Then push the Flowrate and Assay button.

Fluid Flowrate

Enter the total flow for the stream in the data field provided. The flowrate must be in weight or liquid volume units. The dimensional unit may be changed by using the Convert Unit of Measure Window which is displayed when the UOM button on the Toolbar is pushed.

Define/Edit Assay button

Push this button to display the Stream Assay Definition Window, where you can enter the information regarding the assay for the current petroleum stream. The stream definition includes the distillation curve, molecular weight, gravity, and lightends data.

Cutpoint Set and Blending of Pseudocomponents

The Default Assay Cutpoint Set will be same as the one selected from the Assay Cutpoints and Characterization Window. You can override this default using the Assay Stream Cutpoint Set Selection Window which is displayed when you click on the highlighted text string which describes the selected cutpoint set.

By default, pseudocomponents for petroleum assay streams which use the same TBP Cutpoint set are "included in" (blended) to produce a common set of pseudocomponents. You can change the selected blending option by clicking on the highlighted text which describes it. See Assay Stream Blending Options for additional details.
