Stream Copy
The Copy command in the Edit menu provides the capability to copy the thermal and composition data from one stream (the source stream) to one or more target streams in the flowsheet. The target stream can be either a new flowsheet stream to be created or an existing stream. In the latter case, the copied data overwrites previously existing data in the target stream.
In the case of multiple source streams, the target streams are new flowsheet streams only.
Note: Pasting of multiple streams onto existing streams are not supported.
Usage
To copy data from one or more source streams:
Select (highlight) the stream(s)
from which the process data is to be copied.
Choose the Copy
command from the Edit menu (or press Alt + E, C).
Deselect (remove highlight) from
this stream by clicking the mouse in an unoccupied area of the flowsheet
or by choosing Select None
command from the Edit menu (or press Alt + E, N).
Also, multiple streams can be selected using Shift key. When you select multiple streams, a selection box is drawn and only the streams that are explicitly selected will be part of copy/paste operation.
Note: Selection with Ctrl keys not available.
The copied stream data can be pasted into other streams as follows:
To create one or more new streams with the copied data:
Choose the Paste
command from the Edit menu (or press Alt + E, P).
Create new streams (source (feed),
internal, or sink (product) stream) by the usual method. For instructions
on creating new streams, see Connecting
/ Reconnecting Streams. The newly created streams will have the same
thermal conditions and composition as the original source stream.
Create additional duplicate streams
if desired.
To copy data into one or more existing streams:
Select (highlight) the desired
stream(s) to which the data is to be copied.
Choose the Paste
command from the Edit menu (or press Alt + E, P).
Any data previously entered for the target stream(s) will be overwritten with the data copied from the source stream.
To copy both input and previously calculated data into one or more existing streams:
Select (highlight) the desired
stream(s) to which the data is to be copied.
Choose the Paste
Special command from the Edit menu (or press Alt + E, S).
A Paste Special window will appear. Since PRO/II stores input and calculated data separately, Paste Special allows you to copy calculated stream data into the input data of the target stream(s). You may choose to paste only the input data of the selected stream, or paste both the input data and previously calculated data (using the total composition, liquid composition, or vapor composition). The Paste Special option is not allowed for assay or reference streams.
Any input data previously entered for the target stream(s) will be overwritten with the corresponding data copied from the source stream.
