Paste Special Command (Edit Menu)

Description

Use this command to paste data previously calculated for a stream from the Clipboard into one or more designated stream(s). It allows the user to copy the calculated data (temperature, pressure, and either total composition, liquid composition, or vapor composition) into the designated stream(s).

Note: Pasted data overwrite any data previously stored in the target stream. Using the Paste Special command when anything other than stream data displays a warning message, and the command is not performed.

Usage

Paste copied stream data into an existing stream or streams as follows:

Select (highlight) the desired stream(s) and select this command. The Paste Special window appears. You may choose to paste:

$image\EDIT03.gif$ only the input data of the selected stream, or

$image\EDIT03.gif$ Paste both the input data and calculated data (using the total composition, liquid composition, or vapor composition).

$image\EDIT03.gif$ data for individual phases, depending upon the state of the stream.

The Paste Special option is not allowed if new pseudocomponents generate i.e., flowsheet resets. Again Paste Special can be enabled by generating the calculated data.

Paste Special is not supported for multiple stream selection.

Paste Stream Data

To use Paste Stream Data, right-click the destination stream and click Paste Stream Data. Paste Stream Data performs same action as Paste Special does when Total Stream Composition option is selected. In other words, Paste Stream Data copies temperature, pressure, and total stream composition data from the source stream to the destination stream. Paste stream data is allowed only on a single stream.

Update Stream Data

To use Update Stream Data, right-click the copied stream and click Update Stream Data. Update Stream Data performs same action as Paste Special does when copied stream is updated by selecting Total Stream Composition option. In other words, use Update Stream Data to update input temperature, pressure and total stream composition data of a stream with its own calculated data.

Note: Paste Special, Paste Stream Data, and Update Stream Data are not allowed on an Assay or a Spiral stream.
