Copy Command (Edit menu)
Use this command to copy data and objects to the clipboard. The clipboard has a single buffer, so each time Copy is used, the previous contents of the clipboard are destroyed. The following PFD objects can be copied:
PRO/II streams
Property
table data (for streams and unit operations)
Unit operations
Graphic
images
Copy Streams
Multiple streams can be copied at the same time. The stream image and all its data are copied to the clipboard. Here is the procedure:
Place the cursor on the stream
icon on the PFD and left click the mouse to highlight the unit.
Choose this command from the
Edit menu, or press Cntl+C
to capture the stream icon and all its data on the clipboard.
For a stream, the stream image and data can be copied to the clipboard and pasted back (using the Paste Command) into the same flowsheet. See Stream Copy for more details. Also see Paste Special for special considerations of pasting calculated stream data.
Copy Property Tables
Place the cursor on the property
table on the PFD and left click the mouse to select the table.
Choose this command from the
Edit menu, or press Cntl+C
to capture the property table data on the clipboard. The table data is
saved as plain text.
Since property table data is saved as plain text, it cannot be pasted back into the PRO/II flowsheet diagram. It can be pasted into word processors, spreadsheets, and other applications that process plain text.
Copy Unit Operations
Multiple unit operations can be copied at the same time. However, all unit operations are supported, including merged columns. Here is the procedure:
Place the cursor on the unit
operation icon on the PFD and left click the mouse to highlight the unit.
Choose this command from the
Edit menu, or press Cntl+C
to capture the unit operation icon and all its data on the clipboard.
Use the Paste
command ( or Ctrl+V)
to add a copy of the unit operation back on the PFD.
All unit operations are supported, including merged columns. New feed and product streams are created for the new unit. Specifications of the new unit are cloned from the old unit. Product specifications are cloned to the newly created product streams.
Copy Graphic Images
Each graphic image on the PFD is encapsulated in a bordered page. When copying an image, the entire page that encloses it is copied.
To copy a graphic image, select (highlight) the page on the flowsheet
containing the desired image.
Choose "Copy" from the Edit menu (or press Cntl+C).
To copy the entire flowsheet to the Clipboard, use Export from the File menu. Graphic images can be pasted into other word processing and drawing applications.
Notes
Cutting items to the Clipboard deletes the previous contents of the Clipboard.
Once an object is copied or cut, its color automatically changes indicating that it has been copied.
