Data Regression General Definition

Use this window to define the regression type and parameters.

Usage

Regression ID

Enter a 12 character name to identify your regression. A default is supplied.

Description

You may enter an optional description of your regression of up to 60 characters.

Regression Type

The type of regression required must be specified.

Property Correlation: To regress data onto a property correlation, select this option and select the required correlation from the drop-down list.

Phase Equilibrium: Select this option to regress multi-component equilibrium data to produce binary interaction parameters for a thermodynamic k-value method. Select the required thermodynamic method from the drop-down list containing all methods selected in the Thermodynamics Main Window. If required by the thermodynamic method, you must also select the Equation Format.

Excess Mixing Properties: Select this option to regress data for Redlich-Kister Heat of Mixing interaction parameters. Select the required mixing property from the drop-down list.

View Equation: Press this button to open a window which displays the equation for the selected correlation.

Data Type

Other than for a Property Correlation, you must specify the type of data to be entered by selecting one of the options from the drop-down list. Note that the options with two liquid mole fractions are only applicable if the thermodynamic method you selected above calculates two liquid phases.

Number of Components in Data Set

You must specify the number of components which you will use in a multi-component set of data for Phase Equilibrium or Excess Mixing Properties regressions.
