Heat of Mixing Window

This window is used to specify an excess enthalpy method for liquid enthalpy. These options are intended for use with Liquid Activity Methods.

Usage

From the Thermodynamic System - Modification Window, push the Enter Data button by the property method for which property-specific data are to be accessed. From the Thermodynamic Property Modification Window, push the Enter Data button corresponding to Data Item "Heat of Mixing".

Check the box to specify an excess enthalpy method from the following options:

From Activity Coefficient Temperature Derivatives

The heat of mixing is calculated through activity coefficient derivatives with respect to temperature.

Redlich-Kister Excess Enthalpy Form 1

The heat of mixing is calculated with the Redlich-Kister correlation, form 1.

Redlich-Kister Excess Enthalpy Form 2

The heat of mixing is calculated with the Redlich-Kister correlation, form 2.

If either Redlich-Kister form is chosen, you may push the Binary Data button in order to enter values for the Binary Redlich-Kister parameters. See Thermodynamics - Binary Redlich-Kister Parameters for more details.

Press the OK button to exit the window.
