Column Pressure Profile

The column tray pressures are provided using this window. The pressure must be defined for every tray in a column.

Usage

From the Column Main Window, press the Pressure Profile button.

Select the appropriate Pressure Specification Mode button to activate the desired mode of pressure entry. The default choice is "Overall".

Selecting "Overall" activates the Overall Pressure Specification option and the top tray pressure must be entered in the data entry field. The pressure drop is designated as per tray or for the entire column by selection of the appropriate Pressure Drop button. The pressure drop per tray or per column is entered in the corresponding data entry field.

Selecting "By Individual Trays" activates the Tray by Tray Pressure Specification option. Individual tray pressures are provided in the table, with the minimum requirement that pressures be supplied for the top and bottom trays of the column. The dimensional units for pressure entries may be changed from the units shown on the screen by using the Unit of Measure Selection Window which is displayed when the UOM button is pushed.

Alternatively, instead of entering numeric values for the overall pressure parameters, the values may be referenced using the Define system relative to any available unit operation or stream parameter calculated elsewhere in the simulation.
