Case Study is an executive level feature that allows you to perform studies on a base case solution by altering parameters selectively and re-running.
When the base case and the case studies have solved, Variables - input Parameters and output Results - are available for you to examine as plots. In each plot you may choose to present any or all of the Variables. You may use the plotting utility built into PRO/II’s GUI, or you may display the plots using another plotting package. To change the plotting package, open the Plot Setup Window by selecting Plot Options... from the Options menu.
Refer to Case Study Overview for a description of Case Study and the meanings of terms used.
Use this window the define which Variables you want to present in the Plot and the format of the Plot. The Plot Name and Plot Title are displayed for information.
The Available Variables list contains the identifiers of the Variables that you defined in the PRO/II - Case Study Parameters and Results Window. The Selected Variables list contains the available Axes and the Variables that you want to be plotted. Use the Add and Remove buttons to move variables from one list to the other. Cycles is included in the Available Variables list to that you may select it to be plotted on one of the axes.
You are supplied with one x-axis and 3 y-axes. You may plot more than one variable on each axis. However, you must select at least one Variable for the x-axis and at least one Variables for one y-axis. For each Axis you may enter a Label which will appear on the plot. For each variable you may enter a Legend which will appear on the plot. For each line on the plot, you may define the way it is displayed - as a line, as points or as both.
To select a Variable for inclusion in the Plot
Click on the Variable (or Cycles) in the Available Variables list . A fuller description of the Variable appears in the box below. Click on the Axis on which you want the variable to be plotted. Push the Add -> button. The Variable is moved to the selected axis.
To move the positions of Variables in the Selected Variables list
Click on the Variable in the Selected Variables list . To move the selected Variable up, push the Up button. To move the selected Variable down, push the Down button.
To de-select a Variable from the Plot
Click on the Variable in the Selected Variables list. Push the Remove button. The Variable is moved back to the Available Variables list.
To de-select all Variables from the Plot
Push the Remove All button All the Variables are moved back to the Available Variables list.
To add or change the Legend and Format of a Variable
In the Selected Variables list, click on the variable whose Legend and/or Format you want to change. The current data is transferred to the Label/Legend and Format fields. Enter or change the data and push the Update button. The new entries for Legend and Format appear against the Variable in the Selected Variables list.
To add or change the Axis Label
In the Selected Variables list, click on the axis whose Label you want to change. The current Label is transferred to the Label field. Enter or change the data and push the Update button. The new Label appears against the Axis in the Selected Variables list.
Push this button to view the plot.
This window is opened by pushing a Data... button on the PRO/II - Case Study Plots Window.
