Stream Property Table Component Groups

This window is used to create component groups or to expand existing groups into its individual members.

The advantage of creating component groups is to enhance the readability of the stream property table and reducing its size, especially when there are a large number of components in the streams. If you are interested in the overall data for a group of related components in the streams, you can create a component group containing the desired components. When a group is created, the total property for the whole group is displayed rather than the values for its individual components.

Usage

The Group Components Window contains a list of components previously entered through the Component Data Window. You can create a component group by selecting a range of components from this list.

To create component groups:

Select the components in the group by pressing the SHIFT key and clicking on the entries in the component list. Alternatively, highlight the beginning and ending components of the group while pressing CTRL key.

Note that you can form a group only with entries which are contiguous. You cannot combine components which are in different parts of the list.

After you have selected a range of components, you may supply a name to the group. Push the Group Components button to create the group. The group component entries in the list will be replaced with an entry which gives information about the starting, ending components of the group, and the group name you have provided.

To expand a component group:

Select the component group to be expanded in the component list. Push the Expand Components button to break the component group, and the group entry in the list box will be replaced by its individual members.
