Run Toolbar

If you are new to PRO/II, or are looking for an overview on how to set up a simulation, see Process Simulation Using PRO/II's GUI.

The Run Toolbar provides access to the functionality for executing the simulation and is opened by selecting the Run button on the Run Toolbar.

Status Display the Status Window where the global messages from the last executed check data command can be viewed.

Run Begin executing the simulation. This button is used for starting the execution from the beginning, to restart the execution after a breakpoint is reached, or after the simulation is interrupted via the Stop button. See the topic on Run for more details.

Step  Step through the execution of the simulation by stopping after each unit operation in the calculation sequence. See the topic on Step for more details.

Pause Interrupt and stop the simulation while it is executing. It is up to PRO/II to decide at which point to actually stop the execution after this button has been pushed. See the topic on Pause for more details.

Set Breakpoints Enter the "breakpoint" mode, display the Breakpoints Window and assign units with breakpoints. PRO/II then executes the simulation by stopping at these breakpoint. See Breakpoints for more details.

Goto Enter the "Goto" mode and select the unit from which the execution must start. You can select the unit by clicking on the icon in the flowsheet. See the topic on Goto for more details.

Messages Display the Messages window where you can view the calculation history. This window can be displayed when PRO/II is executing the simulation, in which case the history will be updated as the calculation proceeds.

View Results View a summary of the results of the selected unit operation or stream in the flowsheet. You can review the results of the units by selecting them one at a time. You may also view results by pressing the    button on the toolbar.

You cannot view solid compositions or solid component information when you double-click on a stream. However, the data for all solids Unit Operations is correct and will be displayed on the unit operation reports..

Show Breakpoints Turn on or off the breakpoint colors during execution, for the units which are assigned as the breakpoints. Use Show Breakpoints command to do the same task.
