Status Window

Status messages represent data inconsistencies and incompleteness as determined by PRO/II.

Usage

The status window can be accessed from the top level Data Entry Window of any stream or unit operation by pushing the status button. It can also be displayed by pushing the Status button from the Run Toolbar. Once the window is displayed you can view the local or global messages by selecting the desired choice.

There are four types of status messages:

  1. Local Input Status Messages

These messages display data inconsistency for the last accessed unit or stream window. Note that it is not possible to obtain the status message for any previously accessed unit operation or stream by entering their respective window and pushing the status button. To obtain the status message for a particular unit operation or stream, enter its main window and push the OK button. At this time, the local status message for that unit or stream is generated, and replaces any existing local messages in the status window. The next time the Status window is displayed (from any unit operation or stream window, or from the Run Toolbar), it displays the local messages for the desired unit or stream.

  1. Global Input Status Messages

PRO/II performs a cross-check on all the input data and determines if there are any data inconsistencies between all the unit operation and streams. All inconsistencies detected are reported as global messages and displayed in the Status window.

  1. Local Runtime Status Messages

PRO/II performs a cross-check on the unit operation specific calculated data during run and determines if there are any data inconsistencies inside the unit operation.  All unit operation specific inconsistencies are reported as local runtime messages and displayed in the Status window. Please note that these runtime messages are from the last iteration of calculations.

  1. Summary of Runtime Status Messages

PRO/II performs a cross-check on all the unit operations calculated data during run and determines if there are any data inconsistencies inside the unit operations.  These entire unit operation inconsistencies summaries are reported as summary of runtime messages and displayed in the Status window. Please note that these runtime messages are from the last iteration of calculations.

Note: Local Input Status Messages and Local Runtime Status Messages will be disabled when the status window is launched from the Run Toolbar.

There are three options available in the Status window to show the color of the units which are solved with warnings:

  1. Retain the Color: If any unit operation is solved with warnings then the color turns to yellow.

  1. Suppress Color for Now:  Selecting this option will turn all the solved unit operations to blue even if they have warnings.  Re-running will enable the warnings color again.

  1. Suppress Color till Flowsheet is Closed:  Selecting this option will turn all the solved unit operations to blue even if they have warnings until the flowsheet is closed, also status window will not pop-up when you click on Run even if there are cross-check warnings for input data. Re-opening the flowsheet will enable the warnings color and status window pop-up again.
