Use this window to define the method of calculation and data for Heat of Reaction. Normally PRO/II calculates a value from heats of formation of the reactants and products. You may over-ride this value in this window.
Usage
The equation and the names of the Reaction Set and Reaction are presented for information.
Description
You may enter a 40 character description of the Reaction.
Heat of Reaction
You may choose to have PRO/II calculate the heat of reaction from heats of formation of reactants and products. Alternatively you may enter a heat of reaction based on one of the components that take part in the reaction.
If you have a non-library component in the simulation, you must supply heat of reaction data.
Calculated from Heats of Formation
Select this option if you want PRO/II to calculate the heat of reaction from heats of formation of reactants and products.
User-specified
Select this option if you want to define your own heat of reaction. Then enter the Heat of Reaction, in energy units per mole of base component converted, select the Base Component, enter the Reference Temperature and select the Reference Phase at which the Heat of Reaction has been measured. The Base Component defaults to the first reactant component in the reaction.
How to get to this window
The Reaction Data - Heat of Reaction Data window is accessed by pushing the H... button on the Reaction Definitions Window.
