Component Properties - Fill from Structure Window
PRO/II predicts properties from structure using established correlations and techniques. The method is based on a large database of components, from which group parameters for 42 different functional groups have been determined.
Usage
From the Component Properties Main Window, push the Fill from Structure button.
On this window, you may select components to be filled from structure from the Available Components list on the left hand side. Pushing the Add buttons adds the highlighted components to the list of components to fill from structure. Items can be removed from the list of components to fill from structure by using the remove button. Pushing OK will cause all the selected components to have their properties filled from structure.
To complete the "Fill from Structure" procedure, push the UNIFAC Structure button on the Component Property Modification Window. For all components which you have designated to "Fill from Structure", you must enter a UNIFAC Structure. Push the UNIFAC Structure button adjacent to the component of interest to bring up the Component UNIFAC Structure - Define Structure window, where you can choose from families of components or from the UNIFAC group number directly.
When PUBLIC databank is selected as one of the databanks in current search order for K-value property, PRO/II searches for the group ID in the databank. The group IDs displayed here are SIMSCI group IDs by default. So, the structure information and group IDs should be modified by the user accordingly to use the appropriate original group IDs that are available in the PUBLIC databank.
