Unit Display
Use this window to specify the iconic symbol, the default naming convention, and the automatic numbering of any subsequently added unit operations to the flowsheet.
This window is displayed by selecting the Unit Display menu item from the Drawing Defaults on the Options menu. You can change the symbol and label for all the unit operations that will subsequently be added to the flowsheet.
Use the following entries to change the symbol and label:
Auto Label Format
The units can be labeled by providing a name and a number. The number is incremented by one automatically everytime a new unit of the same type is laid down in the draw area of the PFD Main Window. The integer part of the format number indicates the total space the label number should occupy, while the decimal part indicates the actual number of digits that will be displayed.
This number will be used for the first unit that will be laid down after this selection has been made. For subsequent units the number will be incremented by one.
Select the unit operation whose symbol or label is to be modified from the drop-down list box. The available iconic symbols for the selected unit will be displayed in the palette below. You can then select the desired iconic symbol from the palette.
Select the tooltip/toggle display list from the drop-down list box. The drop-down list box contains all the pre-defined lists or the custom list that you have defined and saved in the Unit Property Table - General Information window.
Global Tooltip Display
ON- Select the list box to display the tooltip option for all the unit operations. By default On is selected
OFF- Select the list box to turn off the tooltip option for all the unit operations
Unit Label Type
You can display the Unit Label from Name and Properties option. The Name option includes the unit identifier. This option is used for most of the units. In Properties option, a list of properties appears on the Process Flow Diagram along with the unit identifier. The list is loaded as per the options selected in the Property list and Display Description check box.
Apply to Existing UnitOps
This is a type of check box which can be opted to apply user selected UnitOp Label Type (Name or Properties) to the existing unit ops in the flowsheet.
Apply to New UnitOps
This is a type of check box which can be opted to apply user selected UnitOp Label Type (Name or Properties) to the newly laydown unit ops.
