Pure Species Parameters for Polymers

This window is used to supply pure species parameters for polymer segments and components. These parameters may be supplied for the Advanced Lattice Model, Flory-Huggins, SAFT and PHSC methods.

Usage

From the Thermodynamic System - Modification Window, push the Enter Data button by the property method for which property-specific data are to be accessed. From the Thermodynamic Property Modification Window, push the Enter Data button corresponding to Data Item "Pure Species Parameters".

Override Data for Pure Species Parameters

Check this box in order to supply data which will override the calculated values for the parameters. By default, these parameters are calculated. The parameters are as follows:

Thermodynamic Method Parameters

Advanced Lattice Model Size Correction Factor

Flory-Huggins Liquid Molar Volume, Solubility Parameter

Standard conditions for liquid molar volume are 77F (25C) at 1.0 atmosphere. This is different from standard vapor conditions (60F, or 15.5556C).

SAFT   Energy Parameter, Size Parameter, Chain Length

PHSC  Energy Parameter, Size Parameter, Chain Length

Component/Segment Name

The lists will contain all polymer segments and components defined in the Definition of Polymer Components Window.

Parameters

The parameters which may be specified depend on the selected thermodynamic method as shown above. Values may be entered for each segment and/or component.
