Stream Calculator Pseudoproduct Conditions

Use this window to define the thermal condition of the pseudoproduct stream from the unit.

Usage

From the Stream Calculator Main Window, push the Pseudoproduct button to display this window.

Temperature Specification

If there is a feed to the unit, you may define the product temperature by specifying a temperature value, a temperature rise above the feed or an increment below bubble point or above dew point. To specify a temperature drop below the feed or an increment above bubble point or below dew point, enter a negative value. Any value for duty entered on the Stream Calculator Main Window is not used in the pseudoproduct heat balance.

If there is no feed to the unit, the temperature rise above the feed option is not available.

Pressure Specification

If there is a feed to the unit, the pseudoproduct pressure defaults to that of the blended feeds. You may enter either a pressure value or a pressure drop below the lowest feed pressure. If there is no feed to the unit, you must specify the pseudoproduct pressure.

Temperature Estimate

If you are not entering the temperature value or a temperature rise, you may supply an estimate for the product temperature. In a few cases, this may reduce the computation time.

Product Phases

If there is more than one stream attached to the pseudoproduct on the PFD, you must allocate the phases to the streams in the Product Phases Window.

Alternatively, instead of entering a numeric value for some of the parameters, they may be referenced using the Define system relative to any available unit operation or stream parameter calculated elsewhere in the simulation. See Stream Calculator Parameters Available for Cross-Referencing for more details.
