Simulation Defaults

The simulation preferences selection allows the user to specify configuration information to be used as a general default for all simulations. You can override these defaults for an individual problem using the corresponding commands in the Input menu.

A sub-menu is displayed when this menu is selected, which contains the following:

Problem Description

Use this option to specify the default problem description information that will be printed as a part of the heading on every page of the output report. See Input\Problem Description Information for more details.

Units of Measure

Use this option to select the global default units of measure sets, from the Units of Measure library, for data input and report output. See Global Default Units of Measure Sets for more details.

Thermodynamic System

Use this option to select the default thermodynamic method to be used in all the simulation problems. You can override this method, or change the options for the selected method for an individual problem using the Thermodynamics Main Window. See Global Default Thermodynamic System for more details.

Assay Characterization

Use this option to select the default assay characterization options (like the molecular weight estimation method, gravity curve generation method, etc.) to be used in all the simulation problems. See Assay Characterization for more details.

Controller/MVC calculation options

Use this window to select the global default calculation options for Controller and MVC that are going to be used for different simulation scenarios. You can override the default options at the individual unit operation level by using the keyword or by making the required changes on GUI.

Components and Thermodynamic Data

Use this option to select the global default inp or prz file that can be used in all the simulation problems. You can override this file in an individual problem using the Thermodynamics Main Window. See Components and Thermodynamic Data for more details.
