Unit Reaction Definitions

Use this window to view the reaction stoichiometry and to allow reaction data to be entered for the plug flow reactor.

Usage

Reactor Operation Phase

Select the reaction phase as Liquid or Vapor. The default is specified for the reaction set in the Reaction Data - Reaction Definitions Window.

Reaction Activity Basis

Select the activity basis. The options are Molar Concentration, Activity or Fugacity for liquid phase and Molar Concentration, Mole Fraction, Fugacity or Partial Pressure for vapor phase. The default is specified for the reaction set in the Reaction Data - Reaction Definitions Window.

Kinetic Rate Equation

The reaction rate Calculation Method may be the built in Power Law Rate Equation:

or rates may calculated by a Kinetic Procedure or by a User Added Subroutine. The default is specified for the reaction set in the Reaction Data - Reaction Definitions Window. For a Kinetic Procedure, you must select the name of a procedure which has already been defined in the Procedure Data. For a User Added Subroutine, you must select the name for a subroutine which has been linked into your version of PRO/II.

Press the Enter Data button to enter user subroutine or procedure data in the User Kinetics Subroutine Data Window or the User Kinetics Procedure Data Window.

Reaction Stoichiometry

Each row in the table represents one reaction in the set. The stoichiometry is shown for information only and you cannot change it. The reaction set is defined and modified in the Reaction Data Sets Window.

Kinetic Data button

Push the button to display the Unit Kinetic Data Window where you may enter kinetic data for the selected reaction. Data entered here override any data in the reaction set for this reactor unit only.

How to get to this window

The Unit Reaction Definitions window is accessed by pressing the Unit Reaction Definitions button on the Plug Flow Reactor Main Window.
