LNG Heat Exchanger - Zones Analysis

Use this window to request zones analysis in order to locate and report any temperature pinches and phase changes which occur within the exchanger.

Zone boundaries are defined at the inlet and exit of the exchanger and at all points where there is a phase change. The default number of zones is five. Furthermore, zone sizes will be adjusted as necessary such that no zone accounts for more than 20% of the total exchanger duty.

Usage

Include Zones Analysis:

Check this option to request zones analysis calculations.

Number of Zones per Cell:

Each cell will be divided into the requested number of zones. More than ten zones per cell is unlikely to improve the accuracy of the results and may require excessive computing time.

Perform Zones Analysis:

Select when the zones analysis should be performed. You are advised to perform the analysis during output time, since this results in faster simulation calculations. The analysis will automatically be performed at calculation time if you define a controller specification which requires it.

How to get to this window
