Light liquid composition data may be used to improve the initial estimate for highly non-ideal liquid-liquid extraction columns.
Usage
From the Column Main Window, push the Initial Estimate button.
From the Column Initial Estimates Window, push the Light Liquid Composition button.
Enter the estimated component light liquid mole fractions for desired trays with the table provided. Tray numbers are entered in the top row of the table. Components are selected using the drop-down lists and light liquid mole fractions are entered in horizontal rows, under the tray numbers. See Editing Tabular Data for information on entry and editing of tabular data.
Additional Information
If you wish, you can override all or part of the estimate data provided by the initial estimate generation method. Light liquid mole fraction data are determined by linear interpolation for trays that are bracketed by estimates.
It is good practice to supply compositions at several trays over the range of the column for highly non-ideal applications. Minimum suggested locations are the top and bottom trays.
