Rigorous Heat Exchanger - Configuration Data

Use this window to specify the type, number, configuration and orientation of the shells in the exchanger. Each shell is geometrically identical. All the data items in this window have default values.

 

Usage

Number of Shells in Series

Enter the number of identical shells connected in series in the unit. The default assumption is that both shell and tube sides are piped in series.

 

Number of Shells in Parallel

Enter the number of identical shells connected in parallel in the unit. The default assumption is that both shell and tube sides are piped in series.

 

Number of Tube Passes/Shell

Enter the number of tube passes. Normally this will be an even number, or 1; but any number up to 16 is allowed.

 

Orientation

Select the exchanger orientation.

 

Configuration

Select the direction of fluid flow: either Counter-current or Co-current.

 

TEMA Type

Specify the TEMA (Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) type by selecting the Front, Shell and Rear types.

 

How to get to this window

The Configuration Data window is accessed by pushing the Configuration button on the Rigorous Heat Exchanger Window.
