Rigorous Heat Exchanger - Baffle Data
Use this window to enter details of exchanger baffle geometry. All the data items in this window have default values.
You may select from three types of baffle or no baffles. If you select one of the baffle types, you may enter data for the baffle spacing, thickness and sealing strips..
Usage
Baffle Geometry Data
Define one of the following.
Baffle cut: the height of the window divided by the shell inside diameter.
Net Free Area Ratio: the area of the window divided by the cross-sectional area of the shell.
Baffle Spacing
You may enter data for Inlet Spacing, Outlet Spacing and Center Spacing. If you omit any or all, PRO/II will calculate spacings according to the table below:
Number of Sealing Strips
The number of pairs of sealing strips per cross-flow pass.
How to get to this window
The Baffle Data window is accessed by pushing the Baffles... button on the Rigorous Heat Exchanger Window.
