Unit Kinetic Data

Use this window to define the kinetic rate data. Data entered here override any data entered in the Reaction Data - Reaction Kinetic Data Window for this reactor unit only.

Usage

The equation and the names of the Reaction Set and Reaction are presented for information.

Note: The data in this window are directly applicable to the Power Law equation. If you are using a user-subroutine or in-line procedure to calculate the rates, values entered in this window will be passed to the calculation in the specified variables.

Kinetic Data

The selection for Kinetic Rate Calculation on the Unit Reaction Definitions Window is shown for information. Either the power law equation or the selected subroutine or procedure name is displayed. Default values for the Pre-Exponential Factor, Activation Energy and Temperature Exponent are supplied from values defined in the Reaction Data - Reaction Kinetic Data Window.

Base Component

Select the component on which the reaction conversion report is to be based.

Units

The temperature, weight, volume, pressure and time units defined in the Reaction Data - Reaction Kinetic Data Window for the rate equation are displayed as defaults. You may define different units to match your data by clicking on the highlighted text.

Reaction Order and Activity Basis

The Default Phase and the Activity Basis selected on the Unit Reaction Definitions Window are shown for information.

Push the Component Orders button to display the Unit Reaction Order Window where you may over-ride the default values for component orders. If you have selected the Boiling Pot option on the Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor Main Window and the reaction is heterogeneous (vapor-liquid), this button opens the Reaction Order and Activity Phase Window.

How to get to this window

The Unit Kinetic Data window is accessed by pressing the Kinetic Data button on the Unit Reaction Definitions Window.
