Batch Distillation - End Cut
End Cut specifies that the contents of the accumulator are to be decanted into a defined product as the last action in the policy segment. End Cuts may appear only in sequential policy segments (specified sequential in the Overall Operating Policy table of the Batch Distillation Main Window . Only one bulk End Cut is allowed in any policy segment for Bulk Holdup of condenser. A second End Cut is not allowed. In a policy segment that has individual holdups for both the L1 and L2 liquid phases, one or two End Cuts may be chosen; one for the L1 phase and the other for the L2 phase. In this case, a bulk End Cut is not allowed. Available options allow decanting each existing End Cut (bulk, L1, L2) into the End Cut product stream.
Usage
Select a product stream to receive the End Cuts from the drop down list of all product streams attached to the unit on the Process Flow Diagram. The selected product may not be used for any other Draw or End Cut.
How to get to this window
The Batch Distillation - End Cut window is accessed by selecting End Cut in the Action/Condition table in the Batch Distillation - Policy Segment window and then clicking on the linked text under Description.
