Policy Segment Charge Actions
Define charges to the batch reactor unit during its operation.
Usage
Feed Stream
Select the feed stream which is to be used as the source for the charge from the drop down list of feeds attached to the unit on the Process Flow Diagram.
Charging Mode
Charges may be instantaneous or continuous. You may select the charging mode as:
Instantaneous amount: The specified amount will be added instantaneously to the reactor.
At a rate: The charge will continue at the specified rate until the end of the batch cycle.
Amount at a rate: The charge will continue at the specified rate until the specified amount has been fed.
Amount over a time period: The charge will be fed at a rate which gives the specified amount in the stipulated time period.
Rate over a time period: The charge will be fed at the specified rate for the stipulated time period.
Amount/Rate/Time Period
The data required depends on the selected Charging Mode. You must supply the data values corresponding to the selected option.
The dimensional units for entries may be changed from the units shown on the screen by using the Unit of Measure Selection Window which is displayed when the UOM button is pushed.
How to get to this window
The Policy Segment Charge Action window is accessed by selecting the Charge action in the Batch Reactor Policy Segment Window and then clicking on the Condition... linked text.
