Find and Rename Streams
Use this command to find and rename the existing streams in the flowsheet. When you click Find & Rename Streams on the View menu, the Find & Rename Streams window appears, which has the following tabs in it:
Find: Use the Find tab to show a list of all the streams available in the flowsheet. You can filter the streams by their types: All, External Feeds, External Products, Recycle, and Reference. The streams that are referenced to others show the names of their corresponding streams. When you select a stream from the list, the flowsheet diagram scrolls to bring the selected stream to the center of the current draw area.
Rename: Use the Rename tab to rename the required streams available in the flowsheet at one go. To rename the streams, enter the original name of the stream in the Search for Stream field and new name in the Replace with field, click Preview, and then click Apply/OK. If necessary, click Clear to clear the changes in the New Name column, Search for Stream field, and Replace with field. If there are duplicate entries for name, the conflicts are highlighted in red color and status text shows the number of conflicts. You can click the column to sort the conflicts.
The Find & Rename Streams window stays open even when you work on the draw area. To dismiss the window, click Close.
If the Find & Rename Streams window is open, the Preview column is not empty, and you attempt to make any changes to the flowsheet, the following error message appears: “You must apply changes to stream names before making changes to flowsheet.”
Click any of the following buttons available on the message box to get the required results:
Apply button: It applies all your changes to the database. Apply button may become unavailable if there are any conflicts in the preview column.
Clear button: It clears the Preview column, Search for Stream field, and Replace With field.
Cancel button: It closes the message box.
