Save As

Access

Use the Save As... command on the File menu, or use the keyboard shortcut Alt +FI, SV to open this dialog window.

Description

This dialog provides user-control when saving a file. It allows you to control saving the file by specifying the file name, location, and file type.

Usage

First, navigate to the directory of interest by using the Save In: field. Next, type a file name in the File name: field. Alternatively, to replace an existing file, scroll in the Save as type: list box and highlight a file type. Select a file from the file list display. Finally, press the Save button to save the file, or press Cancel to quit. A description of each major field in this window follows.

Save In:

Use this field along with the associated folder buttons to navigate to the directory in which the files are to be stored.

File List

If you wish to replace an existing file with the one being saved, select the file you want to replace from the list of files in this field. The files that have the same three-character extension as the selection made in the Save as type: field are listed here.

File name:

Type a filename to save an unnamed simulation, or to save an existing simulation with a different name. PRO/II automatically adds the correct extension to the name you specify.

Save File As Type

Select an extension with which the current simulation file is to be saved. PRO/II files may be saved in either compressed or uncompressed format. The default format is compressed. See File Compression for additional details.

If you click Save As without running the Output Calculations, PRO/II will detect that and display a message, which will ask you if you want to run the Output Calculations. You can select Yes, No, or Cancel.

The modifications made to the flowsheet will get saved in the target file (.prz) but not in the source file.
