Poynting Correction Window

This window is used to specify that the Poynting correction for pressure effects on the liquid phase be included in the calculation of VLE K-values with a Liquid Activity Method. The calculation method for the molar liquid volume (used in the Poynting correction) may also be selected in this window.

Usage

From the Thermodynamic System - Modification Window, push the Enter Data button by the property method for which property-specific data are to be accessed.

From the Thermodynamic Property Modification Window, push the Enter Data button corresponding to Data Item "Poynting Correction".

Select the Poynting Correction options with the radio buttons. Choices are:

Default (Use only if Vapor Fugacity Method chosen)

Use Poynting Correction to Liquid Activities

Do Not Use Poynting Correction

Select the molar liquid volume calculation method with the radio buttons. Choices are:

Standard (25 C) Volumes - Provided in the pure component databank (the default)

Note: Standard liquid volume is taken at 77F (25C), which is different from the standard condition temperature for vapor (60F, or 15.5556C).

Rackett  - Compute with the Rackett method

Rackett One-Fluid - Compute with the Rackett One-Fluid method

Library Density Correlations - Compute from temperature dependent equations in pure component databank

Press the OK button to exit the window.
