General Preferences
You can customize the appearance of icons and the functioning of various operations in the Draw Area using this window.
You can modify the appearance of the buttons in the PFD Palette, by selecting one of the following:
Large Icons : Displays both the icon and the name of the unit operation.
Small Icons : Displays only the unit operation icon.
You can control the amount by which the objects in the draw area will be zoomed every time you select the Zoom operation.
You can control the amount by which the objects in the Draw Area are scrolled in a Pan operation. The scrolling can be done on small or large basis. You can control the scroll amount for both these bases.
Selecting this option will cause unit operations' icons to be filled with the default color. Deselecting this option will display the icons as outlines only.
Selecting this option turns on grid-snapping when units are added to or moved within the Draw Area.
Selecting this option will cause a confirmation window to be displayed whenever you delete an object in the Draw Area. When this window is displayed you can either confirm the deletion or cancel the operation.
Selecting this option will cause a window to be displayed whenever you add a unit operation or stream to the flowsheet. This window will allow you to enter a name for the new unit or stream overriding the default name supplied by PRO/II.
Use this option to control unit snapping. When you connect two unit operations with a stream, PRO/II calculates the number of pixels it would have to move the destination unit so that the new stream would be straight (no bends). If this amount is less than the snap tolerance and unit snapping is turned on, the unit is moved automatically.
The move tolerance sets the number of pixels that the cursor must move before any actual movement of the selected object(s) take place. Setting the proper number prevents unintentional movement of the object due to small mouse movements.
Page Object Size
Use this option to set the default paper size used when defining print pages on the drawing area (Draw \ Page command). If you select the custom size, you may enter a paper width and height.
