Pressure, Work or Head Specification
This is the first performance specification required to describe the operating conditions of the compressor. You can select either a single value entry or a performance curve.
The choices available are:
Outlet Pressure : Pressure of the product stream leaving the compressor.
Pressure Rise : Increase in outlet pressure over the lowest feed pressure.
Pressure Ratio : The compression ratio (outlet pressure/inlet pressure).
Shaft Work : Shaft Work performed by the compressor.
Pressure Curve : Relation between outlet pressure and volumetric flowrate.
Pressure Ratio Curve : Relation between compression ratio and volumetric flowrate.
Adiabatic Work Curve : Relation between adiabatic work and volumetric flowrate.
Polytropic Work Curve : Relation between polytropic work and volumetric flowrate.
Shaft Work Curve : Relation between shaft work and volumetric flowrate.
Adiabatic Head Curve : Relation between adiabatic head and volumetric flowrate.
Polytropic Head Curve : Relation between polytropic head and volumetric flowrate.
Actual Head Curve : Relation between actual head and volumetric flowrate.
Multiple Outlet Pressure Curves: Relation between outlet pressure and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs.
Multiple Pressure Ratio Curves: Relation between compression ratio and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs
Multiple Adiabatic Work Curves: Relation between adiabatic work and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs.
Multiple Polytropic Work Curves: Relation between polytropic work and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs.
Multiple Shaft Work Curves: Relation between shaft work and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs.
Multiple Adiabatic Head Curves: Relation between adiabatic head and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs.
Multiple Polytropic Head Curves: Relation between polytropic head and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs.
Multiple Actual Head Curves: Relation between actual head and volumetric flowrate at multiple RPMs.
The first four choices are single value entries and the rest are performance curves.
Usage
Select your desired operating parameter from the drop-down list box.
If you have selected a single value parameter, enter its value in the appropriate data entry field. Alternatively, instead of entering a value for these parameters, the numeric values may be referenced using the Define system relative to any available unit operation or stream parameter calculated elsewhere in the simulation. See Compressor Parameters Available for Cross Referencing for more details.
If you have selected a performance curve parameter, push the appropriate Enter Curve button to enter the tabular values for the curve.
