Calculation of NBP for Cuts

This entry is used to determine which method will be used to calculate the Normal Boiling Point of narrow cuts.

Liquid Volume Average (LV)

The Normal Boiling Point (NBP) for the cuts is calculated from the volume average (or, in rare cases where TBP, D86, or D1160 distillations are entered on a weight basis, as a weight-fraction average) by integrating across the cut range. For small cut ranges, this will closely approach other types of average boiling points. This is the default calculation method.

Temperature Midpoint (MID)

The Normal Boiling Point (NBP) for the cuts is calculated from the midpoint of the initial and final boiling points of the narrow cut.
