AutoSave & Repair
Use this command to enable or disable the auto-save option for all future simulation problems. By default, this option is off. When active, this feature is a timed backup that saves a significant portion of the current flow sheet simulation after each elapsed time interval if there is any modification in the current simulation. The time interval may be specified when the feature is turned on. This recovers most of the simulation in case the program terminates abnormally. It is an automated, timed alternative to the manually initiated "File --> Save" or "File --> Save As" operations.
Usage
The auto-save feature is not enabled by default. From the Options menu, select the "AutoSave" item to display this window.
Automatic File Save
Activate auto-save by placing a check mark in the check box. Once that is done, an "Auto-save" operation will occur automatically every 10 minutes. The AutoSave Option dialog also allows specifying a different time interval in the range between 1 and 60 minutes.
The time elapsed since the last auto-save is recomputed each time you return to the top level of the PFD (i.e. you close a top-level Data Entry Window). When the elapsed time exceeds the specified time interval, an "Autosave" operation is performed and the elapsed time is reset.
Autosave Folder
Use this option to select the location where the Auto-saved files should be saved.
Maximum number of Files
Use this option to specify maximum number of back up files that should be saved. Maximum of 30 backup files can be saved. After the specified maximum number of backup files are saved in autosave folder, PRO/II automatically replaces the oldest backup of the current simulation with a new one.
This feature periodically recovers a significant portion of the flow sheet simulation, and is useful in recovering data after an abnormal program termination.
When you start PRO/II, if the any backup prz files are present in the autosave folder, “Autosaved files” window appears. Required backup file can be opened from this window and unnecessary backup files can be deleted.
Automatic File repair:
Select this check box on to activate Automatic file repair. On activating, every time you close a converged simulation PRO/II will ask if a repair of the simulation file is to be done before closing it. If you choose yes, then below actions are performed on the simulation automatically.
Update estimates (as per the options selected, see below sections)

Update Recycle stream initial estimates

Notes:
Autosave of the simulation starts only when there is some modification in the simulation.
The Autosaved backups of the current simulation are deleted once the simulation is closed.
