The Alcohol data package uses a special set of NRTL binary interaction parameters for systems containing alcohols, water and other polar components. The parameters have been obtained by regressing experimental data for alcohol systems. The recommended temperature and pressure ranges for the ALCOHOL data package are as follows:
Temperature:
122 - 230 F (50 - 110 C ) for water- alcohol systems
150 - 230 F (66 - 110 C ) for all other systems
Pressure: Up to 1500 psia (100 bars)
The vapor enthalpy and density and the vapor and liquid entropies are calculated with the SRKM equation of state. The liquid enthalpy and density are calculated with ideal methods.
See "Alcohol Package (ALCOHOL)" under "Special Packages" in Chapter 2, Volume 1, of the PRO/II Reference Manual for more information, including a list of components included in this data package.
